A major, strategic revision in the U.S. nuclear doctrine has just been approved and received the green light from President Obama. The latest update includes an acknowledgment and preparing for a simultaneous & highly coordinated nuclear attack from multiple nuclear-armed, near-peer adversaries, namely, Russia, China along with North Korea with its rapidly evolving nuclear weapons and delivery systems capabilities.

This is the first ever time since World War II that the U.S. nuclear doctrine has been revised to acknowledge & cater for such a dire but practically realistic possibility. The tectonic shift is also aligned with President Biden's Democracies vs. Autocracies rhetoric which has repeatedly raised the alarm against the rapid emergence of Russia, China and North Korea, along with Iran, as the latest axis of revisionist powers which collectively threaten to upend the traditional, rules-based world order led by the West especially after the signing of the 'no-limits' partnership between Russia-China in 2023 and the Russia-North Korea collective security agreement signed earlier in 2024 in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the West's sustained military & economic support for the latter.

China's massive nuclear ambitions with plans to double its nuclear weapons arsenal from 500 at present to 1,000 by 2030 and further triple to 1,500 nukes by 2035 and Russia's development of a range of unique and destabilizing nuclear weapons delivery systems and North Korea's dangerous & highly escalatory antics as well as nuclear weapons delivery capabilities collectively threaten the West to an almost existential degree which has so far been unprecedented in world history since the dawn of the atomic age.

The outcome of the same is going to be a further escalation of the three-way nuclear arms race which is already underway between the U.S., Russia and China as all the three nations further up the nuclear ante by expanding their nuclear weapons arsenal and modernizing the nuclear weapons delivery capabilities, thereby, further adding to the geopolitical uncertainty, unpredictability and chaos in the relentless quest for global supremacy & dominance...
