Veiled in Secrecy since the early 1970s, when it was established as a military base managed by Britain as part of the British Indian Ocean Territory and used extensively by the U.S.; Diego Garcia, is a small, uninhabited beautiful island in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).

Carved out by the British in 1965 out of the Chagos archipelago in the IOR from their former colonial empire in the APAC region; the island has been operated by them as a top secret U.S.-U.K. military base for supporting military operations in the region, as part of the decades-old U.S.-U.K. Mutual Defense Partnership. However, the island has been a subject of a political controversy and territorial dispute between Mauritius, which claims the island to be part of it territory, and the U.K.

Recently a BBC journalist was provided access to Diego Garcia, as part of an international legal case, and she has reported comprehensively about what actually lies in there.
